Gelder Group’s Outstanding Workplace Training Programme is recognised in HRH The Princess Royal Training Awards

Gelder Group are both delighted and proud to have been recognised in HRH The Princess Royal Training Awards’ 2022.

The awards recognise companies that can truly demonstrate a commitment to Learning & Development.

Kirstie Donnelly MBE, Chief Executive of City & Guilds said: “The Princess Royal Training Awards demonstrate how training and development can open up opportunities and attract new talent to industries with significant skills gaps and labour shortages. Yet again, this year’s recipients have shown the range and depth of learning and development that is taking place in their own organisations to shape growth and positivity, from the power of skills development to address issues such as improving diversity and inclusion, through to programmes to address the ongoing impact of climate change.

“As we all work towards a net zero future, we hope to see even more training programmes recognised for their work in supporting this vitally important issue, amongst many other areas that create organisational and people development.”

Gelder Group, now in it’s 35th year in business has trained over 300 apprentices and see’s over 100 children enjoy supervised activities at it’s Sturton by Stow Head Office environmental park every week through ‘Wild in the woods’.

On the Awards, CEO of Gelder Group, Steve Gelder said: “Gelder Group, as anyone who knows the company will confirm, has always enjoyed a great reputation when it comes to Apprenticeships. Our mission is to ‘Inspire a New Generation in Construction.

“This award however re-confirms not only our commitment to people starting out in their time with us but to continued training and development of our people throughout their career and as such we are absolutely delighted to be recognised”.

Gelder group was set up in 1988. Today it is a leading construction company, employing approximately 250 people and with a turnover of £40m per annum. On average, 10% of the Gelder Group’s workforce are apprentices and this is the 2nd time in the Awards seven year history that the company has been recognised.
