Leisure

There are a host of leisure activities on offer in Gainsborough.

The award-winning Marshall’s Yard Shopping Centre is a great day out, offering brands including Next, Superdrug and Browns Department Store.

If golf is your bag, Thonock Park is an exquisite 18-hole golf course perfect for a relaxed evening round. Gainsborough is renowned as one of Europe’s most significant golfing destinations.

There are plenty of options if you’d like to keep fit. The West Lindsey Leisure Centre offers state-of-the-art equipment designed to suit all fitness needs. And the town’s picturesque surroundings, including the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers the ideal settling for walking or cycling.

The Council has officially acquired the land where the former Lindsey Centre was in the Market Place, which is where the 4-screen cinema, two retail units, a restaurant, and additional parking will be built. You can read more about it on our news page.

Residents can now also enjoy an uninterrupted 1.7 mile stroll along the River bank from the picturesque village of Morton all the way to the historic Trent Bridge, thanks to West Lindsey District Council, local housing provider, Acis Group and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnerships (GLLEP) as they teamed up to extend the walkway along the River Trent.
